Karki Venkataraman Shastri Suri was a great littérateur who enriched Kannada literature in 19th and early 20th century. He was the first Kannidiga to start printing press and publish Kannada books. He was a great writer, good journalist and also a social reformer .He opposed social injustice. To commemorate such a great personality Karki Venkataramana Shastri Endowment Fund has been established and every year a renowned personality, respectively in the field of literature, Journalism and social work are honoured. Women Wing

Women wing of Havyaka Welfare Trust plays an active role in bringing Havyaka Women together and creating awareness about health care - child development, preserving family values etc. It also creates better supporting system among the members of women wing, whereby they are strengthened to face the stress of the modern urban life. After successfully conducting the Women Meet in 2006 and 2007, Women Wing had a new vision. First ever ‘Havyaka Women World Convention’ was held at Sirsi on 23rd & 24th December, 2007. It gave a platform to Havyaka Women all over the World to come together to address the problems of women. It widened the horizons of Women Wing and Women Welfare Cell was formed, which has committed itself to provide medical and educational aid to the needy and deserving Havyaka Women and girls.

Hostel Facilities

Havyaka Welfare Trust Mumbai is having two Gents Hostels (bachelor sharing accommodation facility) (1) at our head office, located at B-207, Valmiki Apartments, Sundar Nager, Kalina, Vidyanagari P O, Mumbai 400098,& (2) At Block No B-4, Om Trimurti CHS Ltd, M G Road, Dombivli West PIN 421201, where the community boys, students coming for higher education, job seekers or on transfer from the existing employer coming to Mumbai are accommodated. Our community people who usually come from distant native place or from other cities, are accommodated subject to a very few basic conditions for a very reasonable price.

The idea is to provide a shelter for a year so that the concerned person can make an alternate arrangement or some time we extend the same facility, for further period provided the space is vacant and available at that point in time. We have been rendering this service for more than three decades.

Apart from accommodation, cooking facility, TV, Internet, utensils, refrigerator, sweeper, vehicle parking, facility is also provided, which enables the people to become self-relient and cost effective.

Medical Centre

Havyaka Welfare Trust Mumbai is having two medical centers in which medical facility is provided to all the general public at a concessional facility. One at an extended suburb of Mumbai-Dombivli in Thane District- located at Block No B-4, Om Trimurti CHS Ltd, M G Road, Dombivli West PIN 421201 known as “Havyaka Medical Centre” which is specialized in physiotherapy having dedicated equipments such as SWD-Short Wave Diathermy, Ultra Sonic, EMS-Electric Muscle Stimulator, Spinal Traction, IFT- Interferential Therapy etc. Currently we have four doctors in our list of consultants who are available at different times during the course of the day. Two are Physiotherapists, one Ayurvedic doctor and one Psychologist, There is scope to accommodate a few more specialized doctors such as Naturopathy, Ayurvedic, homeopathic and / or General Physician so that all types of patients can be treated at one place.

Our 2nd Medical Centre is at our head office located at B-207, Valmiki Apartments, Sundarnager, Kalina, Vidyanagari P O, Mumbai 400098, where a homeopathic doctor is available for consultation.

Educational Aid

Giving educational aid is one of the objectives of Havyaka Welfare Trust. The trust not only gives aid to needy and deserving students at Mumbai but also to those who are needy and deserving at villages. It also includes Scholarship And Certificate of Excellence. Read More >>

Medical Aid

The Trust holds periodic health check- up. It gives medical aids to those who are ill and can not bear the medical expenses.

Fund Raising

The Mega event ‘JOHNY LIVER SHOW’ was held by Havyaka Welfare Trust on 22nd October 2007 to raise Fund for Havyakar Bhavana. The function was organized at Shanmukhananda Hall, King Circle, Sion. It was a Grand Show in a fully packed auditorium. People from all over Mumbai attended the Function and enjoyed the same.

The function began with lighting of the lamp by founder member Shri Ganapati Joshi, past president Shri V. G. Bhat, President Smt Vimala Bhat, Vice President Shri N. R. Hegde, Shri Goopal Kurse. Ex minister of Maharashtra Shri Kripashankar Singh and Ex Sheriff Shri Jagannath Rao Hegde graced the function as chief guests. Shri Kishore Avarsekar Unity Construction Chairman, Shri Shivaji Chamkere Industrialist from Pune, Shri Satpal Singh ex Police commissioner, film star Shri Vijay Arora, Shri Arun Sonavkar ASR Group President were also on the dias. Shri Kripa Shankar assured that he would do the needful for the Trust. Shri Suresh Shetty the then Educational Minister of State for Maharashtra also arrived later and later, he was also felicitated.

The comedy by Johny Liver was hilarious. There was also a variety of entertainment programme by his group, entertaining the audience. THE JOHNY LIVER SHOW was a memorable one.

Annual Durga Pooja

Every year Annual Durga Pooja is held with great enthusiasm by Havyaka Welfare Trust during Navaratri. The pooja is performed as per Havyaka tradition. Shri Durga Mata is worshiped by its members with great devotion.

Annual Picnic

Havyaka Welfare Trust arranges Picnic every year, generally in the month of January, to different beautiful spots. It gives an opportunity to the members to mingle with each other and brings oneness among them. Various games are also arranged for different age groups during the picnic. Members take an off from their daily routine, come with their family and rejoice during picnic.

Havyaka Women World Convention

The first ever “Havyaka Women World Convention” was organized by the women’s wing of Havyaka Welfare Trust which was held on 23rd and 24th December, 2007 at Totagar Society Hall in Sirsi.
